BORIM: The Public Works Department (PWD), Goa, has announced a partial night-time closure of the Borim Bridge on National Highway 566 to facilitate crucial rehabilitation and strengthening works. The closure will be in effect from May 2 to May 20, 2025, during the night hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.
As per the order issued by the Executive Engineer, Works Division-XV (NH), PWD, Ponda, and Administrator of NH-566 from Km. 0/00 to Km. 12/200, one lane of the Borim Bridge will remain closed to all types of vehicular traffic during the specified hours.
The measure is intended to ensure hindrance-free and timely completion of the strengthening and rehabilitation work on the bridge, which spans the River Zuari and serves as a critical link for commuters in South Goa.
Traffic will be regulated during these hours, with vehicles permitted to pass through the remaining operational lane. Authorities have urged motorists to drive cautiously, follow traffic signage, and cooperate with workers and traffic personnel at the site.
