MARGAO: The South Goa District Administration has clarified that there are no current impediments in the regularisation of houses under the Goa Regularisation of Unauthorised Construction Act, 2016, countering recent reports suggesting otherwise.
All previous operational and procedural bottlenecks have been addressed.The Revenue Department has issued a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), incorporating inputs from all stakeholder departments, including Town and Country Planning (TCP), Public Works Department (PWD), and local bodies.
“This has ensured that the scrutiny and disposal of regularisation applications continues seamlessly,” South Goa Collector said
According to the latest progress report dated October 3, 2025, out of 5,106 applications received in South Goa District, 4,256 applications (over 82%) have already been disposed of.
The remaining applications are currently under various stages of processing and inspection.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to processing all eligible applications in a transparent and time-bound manner, advising applicants to coordinate with their respective Deputy Collectors and Mamlatdars’ offices for updates on pending applications.
