The only thing which can solve the mystery is the clothes of Siddhi, which she was wearing. The police have not been able to trace the clothes yet – what a shame.
In the last 20 days, the police have only harassed the victim’s father, cousin and boyfriend. Police say they have checked all CCTVs but found no clue.
The question for the police, 20 days down the line, remains –
1. How did the body reach Calangute beach?
2. Where are her clothes?

On August 12, Goa woke up to shocking development when a 19-year old girl, Siddhi Naik’s body was found in a questionable condition at Calangute beach.
It has been 20 days since then. The Calangute police have neither been able to trace the culprit or get any breakthrough nor have the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant handed over the probe to Crime Branch or CBI as demanded by the parents and the civil society.
It seems like the Calangute police have applied “emergency breaks” on the investigations.
Right from day one, the police had closed down the case as suicide, and as such, all the evidence was destroyed after the body was cremated.
No viscera, no swabs were retained as police did not ask for the same. So there is no chance of any evidence coming from anywhere.

An innocent life has been lost, and the guilty are roaming freely due to the sheer negligence of the police and the doctors who conducted the autopsy at Goa Medical College.
This was only because she was a daughter of an ordinary man and not a politician or a business. Else, the story would have been different. But this throws up a bigger question that can only the high and mighty get justice?
The Chief Minister, who has never left any opportunity to praise the Goa police in the past and even, in this case, he had promised a speedy probe and justice to the deceased soul and her family. What has happened to the chief minister’s assurance? Why is the government dilly-dallying over handing the case to special agencies like the Crime Branch or CBI?
Or is it that the police know the culprit and shielding him due to political pressure?
In recent times, the Goa Police have solved cases 24 hours, and the DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena and the CM had boasted about the Crime detection rate, which they said is amongst the highest. So how come this case has fizzled out of Goa Police hands? Why were brains not applied to detect the crime, putting a huge question mark on the women’s safety in Goa?
Of course, this is a unique case, but in the age of technology and especially in Goa, wherein there are CCTVs at most shops and houses, it is difficult to understand why the police cannot find a clue.
