PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that no complaints or cases are registered against Goans for entering into Casinos in the last three years.
“No cases are registered against Goans for entering Casinos and convictions made till date; No such complaint has been received at any Police Station during the last three years,” informed CM
He further said that if any specific information or complaint is received by the Police Department regarding illegal activities, prompt action is taken under the appropriate provisions of law.
“Since, the required rules under the Goa Public Gambling Act are yet to be Notified and certain provisions of the Act are yet to be made effective, therefore the office of Gaming Commissioner is not in a position to identify the manpower required under law to carry out functions and thus no team has been constituted for carrying out functions under the Act,” he added
Sawant said that n absence of rules and functional team of officials, there are no processes to be streamlined.
