PANJIM: The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that in view of covid pandemic, there is no clarity as to when the schools and colleges will reopen for the academic year 2020-21.
Sawant today held live online interaction with students, who had recently cleared their board examination. Series of questions were asked to the Chief Minister during the hour-long interaction.
The Chief Minister said that the government is waiting for guidelines from the Ministry of Home Affairs to reopen schools and colleges in the State. He said that the classes will commence in phase manner to start with Std X and XII.
Sawant also informed that the new National Education Policy (NEP) will be implemented in Goa from next year and a task force has been formed to study the policy.
Sawant said that the Government will soon rope in a private agency to prepare students for competitive examinations like IAS, IFS, IPS, Banking, GPSC, etc.
He also said that the Government will soon tie up with the nationalized banks to provide interest free funding for the students.
