PANAJI:
The State government has not taken any decision with regards the opening of schools, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant informed here today.
Though the Centre has asked States to decide on re-opening of schools, the Chief Minister said that any decision with regards opening of schools would be taken after consulting stakeholders.
“In Unlock 5 the MHA has opened almost everything but with precautions and asked to maintain social distancing. In Goa, if you see mainly the theatres and programmes were restricted, we will take a decision on them after October 15,” the Chief Minister said.
Regarding schools, Mr Sawant stated that the department has asked the schools to take decisions.
“The government has not told the schools to start. We will consult everyone and then decide,” he said.
He said the entertainment and other sectors can start with social distancing and other precautions.
On restarting Casino industry, he said the operators have sent a proposal to restart but no decision has been reached yet.
“Restarting casino industry will take some time. We have not decided yet though a proposal is come from them,” he said.
