PANAJI: Public Works Minister Digambar Kamat made it clear that no government department will be allowed to dig roads without prior permission from the Chief Principal Engineer of the PWD.
Kamat was speaking after a meeting with the Water Sports Association, which was also attended by officials of the Captain of Ports Department.
He said he has directed the Captain of Ports to resolve all pending queries of the association at the earliest.
The Minister further informed that pothole patching works across the State are underway, but progress has been hampered due to heavy rains.
“I have sought detailed information on the condition of all roads. Going forward, road digging will only be carried out with proper clearance from PWD to avoid inconvenience to the public,” Kamat stressed.
