PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed that Goa has not reported incident of gang wars in last five years.
“Goa has not reported incident of gang wars has been reported during the last five years. No rise in murder cases in the State of Goa. During the year 2023, there is decrease by 40.91% as compared to year 2022” said Sawant
Sawant said that as a preventive measure round the clock patrolling is maintained by PCR Vans, Highway patrol vans, Motorcycles patrolling, foot patrolling etc. Suspected persons found moving during odd hours are rounded up and thoroughly interrogated for their involvement in any crime.
“History sheeters, Ex-convicts and suspect are regularly checked and kept under surveillance. Community meetings are organized to share and collect the intelligence,” he added
CM said that the patrolling is maintained by Police round the clock through PCR Vans, Motor cycles, Highway Patrol Vans, foot patrolling by beat staff at various vulnerable points, bus stands, market area, beaches, vital installation, river cruise jetties etc by deploying adequate staff.
Similarly, Nakabandis are held at various strategic points. The night Checking Officers are deployed for night round patrolling for checking the suspicious activities and movements during night hours. A
“Also plain cloth patrolling are maintained during day and night to gather information about illegal activity if any. Intelligence is collected through sources and informants in respect of suspicious activities ,” he added
