PANAJI: While claiming that there is no infighting within the BJP, State President Sadanand Tanavade today said that Calangute MLA Micheal Lobo is firm with the BJP.
“Calangute MLA Michael Lobo is with BJP and that there is no infighting within the party but mere difference of opinion. I do not favour showing distrust on Lobo; I have full trust in him,” said Tanavade.
He further said that Lobo is a senior leader and will stay with the BJP. Tanawade claimed that none of the ministers or MLA has spoken against the party.
“Do not believe in rumours; his statement does not warrant a disciplinary action,” he added.
“There is no harm in demanding for a ticket..anyone can do that, but finally party will decide,” he said, adding “once tickets are announced, if then someone gets into anti-party activities, then disciplinary action will be taken.
Tanavade said that BJP will declare it’s candidate once the election schedule is announced.
When asked about the alliance, Tanavade said that the talks and the Election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis is looking into the subject.
“Talks are still on over alliance. Fadnavis is in talks with local party leaders, Goenkarponn has to be protected. Interested parties can come for discussions with us,” Tanavade informed.
He said that the final decision regarding the alliance will be taken by BJP parliamentary board.
Reacting sharply to AAP’s Bhandari CM remark, Tanavade said that BJP doesn’t deal with community-based politics.
“We don’t see community politics. We believe in going ahead taking all the communities together,” he said.
