VASCO: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho emphasised that the state government is in no intention of delaying the Panchayat Election, and the time of a month was asked to streamline all the reservations.
Minister Godinho cleared the air about the delay in the Panchayat election, saying that the state government doesn’t want the election to be delayed and there is nothing to be achieved by delaying the election.
He said that efforts are being made to show that the government is purposely delaying the Panchayat election. But this is not correct.
“We want all panchayats to have their new Sarpanch and panchs and things to be in the proper line,” he said.
Commenting on the Vanamahotsav event at Hansa by the Indian Navy, Godinho said that the Navy doesn’t only do their defence-related work but they are prudent in helping the fishermen and coastal communities in distress.
He further said that the Navy, by doing the Vanamahotsav event, is doing noble work. We must work to save our environment.
Meanwhile, the minister of Forest Vishawajit Rane said that it is a historical moment that 1.25 lakh tree samplings will be planted on a single day in Goa, and in the next six months, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be planting tree saplings all over India.
Rane also assured to work in sync with the Forest Department and The Indian Navy to safeguard the environment of Goa.
