MARGAO: Luizinho Faleiro, a former chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP, has said he has no intention of getting back into politics anytime soon.
However, he asserted that Goa is in dire need of better governance and government, citing the high rate of unemployment in the State and the paucity of development outside of the flagship projects.
“With my experience in the Rajya Sabha, I was approached to run for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat; I do not wish to name the political parties. A political party even asked me to plan the party’s activities leading up to the election. However, I declined to do so because I’ve made the decision to not join any political party, at least not right now,” he said.
He further said he has received requests from some of the political parties to contest the Lok Sabha election from South Goa, but he politely declined the offer.
