New Delhi: India has once again issued a strong rebuke to Pakistan for its continued support of terrorism, stating there has been no reduction in cross-border terror activities targeting the country. In its official report for 2024, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that despite repeated diplomatic efforts, Pakistan has failed to take concrete, verifiable, and irreversible steps to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure operating from its territory. The report stated that several UN-designated terrorists and terrorist organisations continue to operate freely in Pakistan, and the country has not shown any sincerity in delivering justice for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Tensions between the two nations escalated earlier this year after the Pahalgam terror attack in April, which claimed 26 lives. In retaliation, India conducted targeted strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The MEA emphasised that India continues to face not only cross-border terrorism but also a barrage of hostile propaganda and disinformation campaigns sponsored by Pakistan to malign India’s image on global platforms. These attempts, the ministry noted, are unequivocally rejected by the Indian government.
The report further outlined how Pakistan engages in efforts to interfere in India’s internal matters and supports infiltration attempts using military-grade weapons, drones, underground tunnels, and advanced communication equipment. It said these efforts are coupled with smuggling operations involving arms and narcotics across both the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, pointing to the existence of a well-organised, state-supported terror ecosystem aimed at destabilising India.
The MEA noted that India has consistently raised these concerns at multiple levels — bilaterally and multilaterally — including at the United Nations. India has also protested Pakistan’s ceasefire violations, illegal construction activities along the LoC, and persistent attempts to violate bilateral agreements. These actions, the MEA said, have contributed to increasing international awareness about Pakistan’s continued use of terrorism as a tool of state policy.
The report concluded by reaffirming India’s commitment to national security and its resolve to hold Pakistan accountable on all global platforms. The ministry reiterated that terrorism in any form is unacceptable and that the Indian government will continue to act decisively to protect its sovereignty and citizens.
