PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that unique stickers shall be allotted to tourists entering the city on their vehicles so that they are not harassed by police while travelling across the state.
“Unique tickers shall be allotted to tourists entering the city on their vehicles so that they are not harassed by police while travelling across the state,” said Sawant.
He further said that the documents of the tourist vehicles will be checked at the border check posts.
“In order to allow tourists a comfortable movement across the state, vehicles entering Goa will be thoroughly checked at the border for the documents and will be given unique stickers to fix on their vehicles. Such vehicles will not be stopped (by police) for checking documents anywhere in the state,” Sawant said.
He said that they are introducing it with the payment of the green cess.
There have been many incidents wherein tourists have been raising complaints on social media that they were stopped to check documents of vehicles and were being harassed.
Meanwhile, the CM said that the new initiative is aimed at addressing these challenges and ensuring that tourist vehicles can move smoothly and without any hassle.
