MARGAO: Former minister Micky alias Francis Pacheco, who recently joined Congress, said that some party leaders were misguiding the party observers, leading to the party’s debacle in recent elections.
Addressing a press conference, Pacheco said that few leaders from Congress are misguiding the party observers by giving wrong information.
“This is the main reason why party had lost elections in the state,” he said.
He also said that this is the time to get united to work for Congress to get the party in power in the coming 2022 elections.
“I will contest the upcoming elections on Congress ticket. The high command has given me assurances regarding the same,” he said.
When asked about the stand taken by Congress Goa desk in-charge Dinthe esh Gundu Ravo regarding united opposition, Pacheco said, “I follow my leader P Chidamberam, who clearly said to work in all 40 constituencies and I m doing the same when senior leader have said then there is no question of alliance in state.”
Further, taking up local issues, Pacheco appealed to the state government to allow the Watersports in South Goa, closed from last year.
“Watersports is bread and butter to many in the coastal belt. Watersports is started in north Goa, but the tourism department has not yet permission to start in the South. The law should be equal everywhere,” he said.
Without naming Churchill, Pacheco said that the MLA, who presently represents the costal belt and is very close to CM and the rulling party, should have done the nessasery thing to start the Watersports business in south Goa.
He also appealed Goans to stand firm behind Congress and not get divided and fall prey to the fake promise given by newly entered party. He also termed the decision taken by Luizinho as selfish.
