PANAJI: The High Court of Bombay at Goa today has declined interim relief of relieving around 30 employees of LIC Corporation of India from election duty.
The High Court asked the Election Commission to file an affidavit specifying if there is any deficit of government staff for deployment on poll duties and also clarify as to why there is need to requisition LIC staff.
The Goa LIC employees union had moved HC seeking exemption from election duty for the Lok Sabha elections on May 7.
