PANAJI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that there will be no shortage of fuel, gas, or fertilizers in the country and emphasised the crucial role of border and coastal states in maintaining supply stability, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said after attending a high-level review meeting.
Sawant virtually joined the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, which was attended by Union Ministers, the Cabinet Secretary, and Chief Ministers of all States and Union Territories to review preparedness in light of the evolving situation in West Asia.
The Chief Minister said the Prime Minister stressed that the spirit of “Team India” remains the nation’s greatest strength and assured that all necessary steps are being taken to safeguard energy security, stabilise supply chains, and protect the interests of citizens.
He further stated that the Union Government has diversified energy sources, strengthened non-fuel-based energy initiatives, and reduced additional excise duty to ease the burden on consumers amid rising crude oil prices.
Sawant added that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, strong Centre-State and inter-state coordination will remain a priority to effectively respond to any emerging challenges.
