COLVALE: In a shocking scenario, 96 persons have been arrested for allegedly residing in the Lala Ki Basti locality in Thivim with proper documentation and verification.
As per police, 96 persons have been arrested for staying on rent without documentation. Police also said that tenant verification forms have not been submitted by house owners.
The police said that house owners have been called to the Police station to inquire as to why no verification forms were submitted to the police station.
Police also have requested House owners, Hotel/Guest house owners, contractors, etc., have been strictly to fill out Tenant Verification each and to submit the same to the nearest police station within 24 hours for further verification.
“The tenant verification drive was conducted to create awareness in the minds of the general public about the importance of carrying out Tenant Verification to prevent crime and for swift detection of crimes by apprehending and arresting accused persons with the help of information provided via Tenant Verification Forms,” said Colvale Police
Police added, “This type of tenant verification drive will be randomly conducted in the other areas within the jurisdiction of this police station to prevent the commission of the crime and to conduct 100% Tenant verification”.
The Colvale police also said that tenant verification information helps them solve crimes and apprehend criminals.
