PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that the state government cannot open tourism unless the entire 100percent population is vaccinated for COVID-19.
“We state cannot open tourism until 100 percent population in Goa is vaccinated with first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, we cannot take a risk,” said Sawant
He further said that government is getting good response for Tika Ustav 3.0 and our target is July 30 to vaccinate all in 18-44 category with first dose of vaccine.
Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar had earlier said that tourism should be opened once everyone in Goa gets a double vaccine dose and only those tourists who have taken both the shots should be permitted.
“My personal opinion is that once the vaccination double dose is completed, we should start inviting tourists who have taken both vaccines. We should keep Goa as well as tourists safe,” Ajgaonkar had said
He, however, said that his Ministry would follow whatever decision is taken by the government vis a vis resumption of tourism activity in the state.
