PERNEM: The Dhruv Sports and Cultural Club, Parcem took a revolutionary step on the occasion of Revolution Day by cleaning the “Khajan Gundo” tourist spot, which is becoming infamous due to some mischievous activities and littered with alcohol bottles.
With the help of the youth and locals in the village, the Dhruv Sports Club members collected each and every beer bottle which was thrown on the embankment, making sure there were no bottles left in the area.
Khajan Gundo is frequented by locals as well as the tourists due to its scenic beauty.
However, of late, it was seen that some unscrupulous elements had turned this into a “drinking spot” at night, especially weekend.
As a result, hundreds of beer and liquor bottles had accumulated on the spot which was affecting the beauty of the place.
The drive also gave the message of Clean Goa, Clean India to the youth.
The campaign was led by Deepak Kalangutkar, President of Dhruv Sports and Cultural Club and former Zilla Panchayat member.
Parcem panch Arun Parsekar, former Sarpanch Gopal Bhisaji, Prashant Ghodge, Nilesh Kalangutkar, Mahesh Kambli, Swapnil Naik, Laxmikant Naik, Sandeep Kambli, Shivanand Korgaonkar, Rahul Bandekar, Vedang Parsekar, Baburao Chari, Pritam Kambli, Akshay Hadfadkar, Suchetan Kalangutkar and others participated in this campaign.
