PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said the government is working to ensure that no young person remains unemployed, highlighting skill development initiatives being implemented under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY).
He stated that the programme encourages youth to pursue professional training instead of waiting solely for government employment, enabling them to explore diverse career opportunities across sectors.
Sawant pointed out that training is available in multiple fields, including home nursing, housekeeping for the tourism industry, and various roles in the IT sector. He added that the initiative focuses on industry-relevant skills and offers assured placement for trained candidates.
The Chief Minister said the initiative aligns with the broader vision of creating employment avenues and equipping youth with skills required in the evolving job market.
