Porvorim: Porvorim witnessed a powerful display of community spirit on Sunday, January 11, 2026, as the seventh edition of NoMoZo transformed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg into a lively public space dedicated to people, purpose, and progress. What is usually a busy traffic corridor turned into a vibrant festival zone filled with activity, creativity, and shared experiences.
Thousands of residents, families, youth, artists, innovators, and visitors gathered to celebrate fitness, culture, heritage, sustainability, and innovation. Music, performances, exhibitions, and interactive zones created a welcoming atmosphere where people of all ages could engage, learn, and relax together. The event reinforced the idea that streets can serve as inclusive spaces for social connection rather than just transport.
The celebrations gained added energy with the participation of acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee, who mingled freely with the public and took part in various activities. His presence highlighted the growing recognition of NoMoZo as a people driven initiative that places responsibility and ownership in the hands of citizens. Traditional Shigmo performances drew special attention, offering a colourful glimpse into Goa’s cultural heritage.
The event featured multiple zones catering to diverse interests. The Heritage Zone showcased traditional art forms, performances, and local crafts, allowing visitors to reconnect with Goa’s roots. Innovation took the spotlight in the IT and Science Zone, where live demonstrations of drone technology, 3D printing, and other modern tools sparked curiosity among children and adults alike. Sports enthusiasts enjoyed boxing and martial arts displays, while the Pet Zone attracted animal lovers with adoption and grooming activities.
More than 100 free stalls were provided to local vendors, self help groups, and artisans, enabling them to showcase products and interact directly with the community. This initiative strengthened local entrepreneurship while keeping the event accessible and inclusive.
With footfall crossing 20,000 visitors, NoMoZo 7.0 reaffirmed its status as a community led celebration that blends sustainability, culture, and innovation. The festival once again demonstrated that when people come together with a shared vision, public spaces can become powerful platforms for connection, creativity, and collective progress.
