PANAJI: The Collectorate of North Goa District, in coordination with the Directorate of Census Operations, Goa, has successfully completed a three-day training programme for Technical Assistants and Charge Clerks in preparation for the upcoming Census of India 2027.
The sessions were led by Master Trainers Shri Bheem Maurya, Shri Atindra Kumar Das, Shri Omkar Patil and Shri Ankit Bahadure, who combined classroom instruction with practical modules. The focus was on ensuring digital accuracy, proper data handling and maintaining integrity in the collection and processing of information during the census exercise.
Officials informed that the Census of India 2027 in Goa will be conducted in two digital phases. The first phase — Houselisting and Housing Census — is scheduled from April 1, 2026 to May 15, 2026. This will include a 15-day period of self-enumeration followed by a 30-day field operation.
The second phase — Population Enumeration — will commence in February 2027.
Authorities stated that the training programme was aimed at equipping field-level personnel with the technical skills required for digital data collection and seamless implementation of the census process across the district.
