PANAJI: IPSCDL CEO and MD Sanjit Rodrigues reacting to the allegations said that he is not bothered about the people and that his department works on a schedule.
“We have presented our point of view before the court. All suggestions are welcome. We are working with everybody. It is not only that suggestions have come today. They have been pouring in, and we have been working on them. There is no question of selective working on the suggestions.” said Rodrigues.
When asked about the allegations that Smart City works were stopped on Sunday, he said, “I have no comments. You treat your allegations at your level. You have seen the work going on. Don’t bring allegations here.”
When asked about people alleging that the clearing and cleaning of the roads had been carried out due to the inspection, Rodrigues retorted, “I am not bothered about people. We work as per our schedule.”
Judges Mahesh S. Sonak and Valmiki SA Menezes of the High Court examined the ongoing Smart City construction in Panaji on Monday night. They seemed dissatisfied with the work, especially with the dust pollution, and concluded that the intersection at St. Inez near the Sheetal Hotel was the most important for vehicular traffic.
Two public interest litigation (PIL) writ petitions filed by certain citizens asking for guidelines to reduce dust pollution were the reasons behind the inspection.
