PANAJI: The Captain of Ports Department, Government of Goa, has issued a notice to mariners informing about maintenance dredging work being carried out across the mouth of the Chapora River.
According to the notice dated December 30, 2025, M/s Enrich Global Infra Limited, Mumbai, has commenced dredging operations across the mouth of the Chapora River with effect from December 29, 2025.
All vessels plying in the Chapora River and those crossing the said locality have been advised to keep clear of dredging machinery at the site. Mariners have been instructed to proceed at slow speed and, if necessary, halt at a safe distance from the dredger, hopper barge, and auxiliary boats engaged in the dredging operations to avoid any mishaps during the execution of the work.
The notice further directs all concerned to strictly adhere to on-the-spot instructions issued by the dredging supervisor at the site. Authorities have warned that any violation of the instructions will be viewed seriously.
The advisory has been issued in the interest of safety of navigation during the ongoing dredging activities at the Chapora River mouth.
