PANAJI: The notice sent to GPCC president Girish Chodankar in the sex scandal case has alleged that heinous crime was committed by an organized extortion Crime Syndicate of certain influential persons.
In a two-page notice by Yashas Legal says that the woman victim has approached the firm for help.
The notice says “We are concerned for a woman resident of Bihar State (name withheld for the present with the intent of protecting the identity of a woman victim of a sexual offence) who has become the target of a serious and heinous crime committed by an organized extortion Crime Syndicate of certain influential persons who are not only known to you but who are admittedly in your closer /inner circle.”
It says that the said woman victim has approached the firm through a Mumbai based NGO “Lawyers for Just Society”.
“Due to legal compulsion of protecting the identity of a woman victim of sexual offence, we are refraining as at present from mentioning such personal details of the woman as would enable any reader of this notice to identify the hapless and helpless woman and accordingly she is being referred hereafter as “Mrs. X, which it shall be presumed that you are a part of the extortion racket and that the Press Conference held by you on 30.11.2021
was only in furtherance of the objects of the Crime Syndicate to extort money,” it says.
Thereafter, the notice adds, we shall proceed in the matter without any further notice to you.
“Needless to state here, at the cost of repetition, if any video, audio or photograph concerning any person comes to be published or circulated in the public domain at any future date that may give rise to any trail towards Mrs. X in any manner whatsoever and affect her dignity, it shall be presumed that you alone are the mastermind behind such publication in view of your being fully aware of the source of the publication and your having failed to initiate steps to prevent the publication inspite of service of this notice upon you.”
