PANAJI: The FIR against land-grabbing suspect Siddiqui, also known as Suleman Khan, and his accomplice Hazrat Ali now includes a section of the Arms Act, according to the Old Goa Police.
Sources claim that after accusations that Siddiqui and Ali frightened Amit Naik by brandishing an illegal handgun at him, the new charge was added. This event happened after Naik helped Siddiqui escape from the Crime Branch prison and then escorted him to Hubli.
After undergoing minor surgery, Siddiqui was released from the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim. On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, he was admitted to the GMC.
After escaping from jail, Siddiqui, a major suspect in the land-grabbing case, was taken into custody again and placed under police remand. In connection with the same land-grabbing case, his wife, Afsana, also known as Sarika Khan, was also placed under police detention on remand.
Siddiqui was placed into police detention for seven days on Tuesday by the Panjim Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC).
In relation to a land-grabbing complaint filed in Mapusa, his wife, Afsana, was placed under four days of remand.
