CANACONA – Stating the once prime human basic needs of “Food, Clothes and Shelter” is now almost relatively fulfilled, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar stated now the focus is more devoted to awareness of the people’s health.
Speaker and Canacona M.L.A. Ramesh Tawadkar was speaking at the inauguration of the Amrit Mahotsav Health Mela at Canacona Community Health Centre (C.H.C.), Canacona.
“Initially, Food, Clothes and Shelter’ were the three basic aims of the citizens. People now have started to avail all these three basic necessities to a great extent, and this human development is partly made possible by proper education,” he said.
The health factor is equally important together with Food, Clothes and Shelter along with proper education and maintenance of healthy life. Panch, Sarpanch, and Councillors should devout more of their energies and take leads in bringing awareness on Health and education to the masses, said Tawadkar.
Directorate of Health Services in Co-ordination with Goa Medical College, Dental College, women and Child Department and other departments Organized the Health Mela on Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on Friday from 8.30 am to 4.00pm at C.H.C. Canacona.
The facilities made available at Health Mela are All were Checked B.P, Hb%, RBSL, FBSL on the spot, Above 60 years and others suspected as per Dr advice E.C.G. and X-ray for Screening, Breast Cancer Detection, Dental Van for all Facilities and Screening of Oral Cancer, Special Consultant O.P.D.s. Surgery, Medicine, Orthopaedic, Paediatric, Ophthalmic, E.N.T., Gynaec, Dental, General medical Checkup, Ayush O.P.D.
Covishield Vaccination.
Also, a Competition for School Children’s on “eat right” and Poshan Aadhar was held, while
Special demonstration from Women and Child Development, Dept Art and Culture, Food and drugs etc., Homemade item Stalls from Self Help Groups.
Also present were Canacona Mamlatdar Manoj Korgaonkar, Health Officer Dr. Sneha Amonkar, Helth Instructor Bhausaheb Rane, B.D.O. Anil Naik, APEO Motilal Naik Gaunkar, CDPO Aakansha Naikgaunkar, Dr. Navjyot Halarnkar, Dr. Jose Tawares, Councillors Sara Naik Desai, Narciso Fernandes, Amita Pagi, Hemant Naikgaunkar, amongst others.
While Health Officer Dr Sneha welcomed, Sanitary Inspector Pranay proposed a vote of thanks while the inaugural function was compeered by Shirish Pai.-
