PANAJI: Minister Rohan Khaunte informed that the state government is in process of making NOC from the Tourism Department mandatory for all tourism-related activities.
“All hotels & restaurants and clubs will now need to obtain the NOC,” said Khaunte.
The statement comes days after the tourism department issued notices to over 1400 traders operating illegally.
They were directed to register with the department within 30 days, failing which the department had warned of legal action.
Minister said that the government is working to put a system in place to get the in order sector.
“Standalone restaurants, cafes, wellness centres, etc. will now have to take a NOC from the tourism department to be termed as legal, as they are all a part of tourism activities, ” he said.
Reacting to the demolition of the controversial Curlies Beach Club at Anjuna, Khaunte said that the demolition had sent a strong message that the government will not compromise and accept illegalities which are happening on the beach belt. Illegalities have to stop, he added
