Now the villagers of Shel Melauli, Sattari say they are being harassed by police in form of sending notices to the locals for their protest against the proposed IIT-Goa.
The notices, copy of which is in possession of this website, “whereas, the undersigned is investigating Valpoi P.S Cr No 49/2020 U/s 143, 147, 341, 504, 188, 269 r/w 149 IPC, dated – 03/09/ 2020.”
You are therefore given notice in accordance with Section 41 – A CrPC to remain present before the undersigned at Valpoi police on 03/10/2020 in connection withn investigation of above crime.
“Failure to comply with terms of this notice can render you are liable for arrest u/s 41-A (3) & (4) of CrPC,” it says.
The villagers say this is nothing but harassment of the people for opposing IIT.
“If they continue such tactics all villagers will go and sit in the police station,” they said.
