PANAJI: The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Share Our Strength, a leading global non-profit, to combat childhood hunger in India. The MoU was signed during NRAI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the 4th Edition of the Indian Restaurant Summit, held in Goa from September 15–17, 2025.
This partnership seeks to leverage the collective influence of India’s vast restaurant industry to create sustainable solutions to eradicate child hunger. To commemorate the collaboration, Olive Bar & Kitchen extended its support with a ₹30 lakh donation to Share Our Strength’s mission.
Sagar Daryani, President of NRAI, said,
“This partnership is a reflection of our industry’s commitment to go beyond business and contribute to society. Food is about community — and every child deserves access to it. With Share Our Strength, we hope to mobilize our members to raise awareness and take tangible action towards ending child hunger in India.”
AD Singh, Founder & MD, Olive Bar & Kitchen, added,
“Food is care, dignity, and connection. At Olive, giving back is part of our DNA. Supporting this mission is just the beginning, and we hope this inspires others in the industry to join us in ensuring no child goes hungry.”
Debbie Shore, Co-Founder, Share Our Strength, said,
“India’s restaurant sector is one of the largest in the world, and this partnership allows us to channel its reach and resources to ensure children receive the nutrition they need to grow and thrive. Together, we will design impactful programs, influence policy, and engage restaurants as active partners in the fight against childhood hunger.”
The MoU signing was one of the major highlights of the summit, reinforcing the restaurant industry’s role as a driver of social impact alongside economic growth.
