Margao – AICC In-Charge for Goa Dinesh Rao has said that the BJP Government in Goa is now frightened with the growing opposition and rising discontent amongst the people about its misrule in the least nine years.
“Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant is now adopting the tactics of high handedness to supress the voice of the people. The imposition of National Security Act is to restrict the participation of the people in the CZMP Public Hearings. Government may soon impose it in North Goa as well ,” charged Rao.
He was speaking at the Grocery Distribution Function organized by South Goa District Congress Office in association with Nuvem Block Congress Committee wherein almost 500 packets of essential items were distributed to the poor and the needy. AICC Membership Observer Prakash Rathod, South Goa Observer Sunil Hanumannavar, North Goa Observer Mansoor Khan, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, former Minister Aleixo Sequeira, former MLA Agnelo Fernandes, GPCC Vice President M.K. Shaikh, Gen. Secretary Subash Faldessai, South Goa District President Joe Dias, Nuvem Block President Manuel D’Costa and others were present for the function.
He said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had sent instructions to all the party functionaries not to celebrate his birthday with pomp and celebration and had urged the party workers to help the people who are in need and who are suffering during the Covid Pandemic.
“I appreciate and congratulate the South Goa District Committee for organizing this social service event,” Dinesh Rao said.
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said, “I am confident that the Congress Party will form the Government in 2022 and will take the first step to help the Marginalized Sector like Motorcycle Pilots, Rickshaw Operators, Mechanics, Barbers, Cobblers, Khajekars, Fulkars, Kankonkars, Bakers, Toddy Tappers and others who make their living on daily earning stated ”
GPCC President Girish Chodankar said that the four day visit of the AICC Incharge Dinesh Rao and other party Office Bearers has helped in rejuvenating and galvanizing the party cadre. The overall response received during the constituency visits is a proof that people are looking forward to Congress Party to form the Government in 2022.
“I am committed to the Congress Party and I will work hard in all the Twenty Constituencies of the South Goa District to ensure that our candidates make a clean sweep in the entire South Goa stated South Goa District President Joe Dias. District Treasurer Peter Gomes compeered the function,” he said.
