Goa has also emerged as a manufacturing base for several leading companies in areas such as fertilisers, tyres and tubes, cement, electrical machinery, fish-net-making machines, automatic washing machines, printed circuit boards, pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical machinery and shipbuilding. Cashew processing has also been a traditional industry in the state.
Monitoring safety, health, welfare and working conditions is not limited to the manufacturing sector only but is also equally applicable to other sectors such as construction, hospitality, healthcare, mining, retail, education and Government.
Considering the above and with a view to providing a dynamic platform for disseminating vital knowledge and best practices in the field of occupational safety and health through comprehensive seminars & panel discussions and an expo to showcase the latest in safety technologies, equipment and solutions by the exhibitors participating from India and so also to advocate for policy and regulatory improvements, Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers, Government of Goa is organising three days 1st Goa Occupational Safety and Health Summit, 2025 from 10th to 12th April, 2025 at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Bambolim, Goa.
