CALANGUTE: An Odisha native was arrested by Calangute police for illegal possession of suspected ganja valued at Rs 1.73 lakh.
Police claimed they conducted a raid after receiving a tip that the accused, named as 26-year-old Michael Mandal, would be delivering drugs to a potential customer.
They apprehended the accused and confiscated over two kilogrammes of suspected ganja from his possession.
He has been charged in accordance with the NDPS Act. Investigations are ongoing.
Rajaram Sitaram Banwasi, 36, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was taken into custody by the Saligao police on Saturday after they found suspected 2.5 kg of ganja, valued at about Rs 2.5 lakh.
