VASCO: Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao on Sunday attended the function to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Our Lady of Desterro Church at Vasco
A large number of people cutting across religious lines visited the Church and offered prayers and sought blessings during the function
Speaking to media, Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao said that it was a delight for him to share the joy of the Parish of the Church that was celebrating the silver jubilee of its erection
“In the last 25 years, they have grown so much as a community and witnessed progress and have seen so many parish priests, sister, lay leaders and parish council members who have worked to build this parish community as the community of faith, love and witness to the values of the gospel. I greet the parish priest and the entire parish community, and I pray that God blesses this parish abundantly,” said Ferrao.
Meanwhile, Parish priest Fr Xavier Braganza said that it was a great day for the entire parish members
“In the last 25 years, we have seen a rise in the number of faithful here, and we have seen many journeys of the Parish members working for the betterment of this church. Many people, including Hindus and Muslims, have also worked hard for the betterment of this church and participated in the function and attended the mass today. Our Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao also attended the function and blessed all the people here immaterial of the religion, for the support and works towards the church,” said Fr Braganza.
