OLD GOA: The Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa will be closed for tourists and other visitors from the morning of Thursday (April 6) till 11 am on Sunday (April 9), on account of religious services during the Holy Week Triduum.
In a statement, Fr Patricio Fernandes, SJ. The Rector of Basilica of Bom Jesus said liturgical services for the Catholic community will be conducted during the sacred Paschal Triduum, and all services will be in English.
On Maundy Thursday (the Lord’s Supper), the Liturgical services will begin at 5.30 pm.
On Good Friday (Passion of the Lord), the Liturgical services will begin at Service at 3.00 pm. Earlier in the day, there will be devotions, which include Way of the Cross (10 am), the Three Hour Agony (12 pm), and the Divine Mercy Novena.
On Holy Saturday, the devotion Mater Dolorosa will be conducted at 10 am. The Easter Vigil services will be conducted at 11.30 pm.
On Easter Sunday, the Masses will be celebrated at 7 am (Konkani), 8 am (Konkani), 9.15 am (English), and 12 pm (English).
