OLD GOA: The Old Goa Police received an urgent message from PCR Panaji regarding a suicide attempt by one resident “X” of Madir, Santa Cruz.
The individual was reportedly attempting to hang himself at his residence.
Acting swiftly, the Old Goa Police team reached the location within 12 minutes and successfully prevented the suicide attempt.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the individual was under severe emotional distress due to his separation from his wife and daughter and had been living alone.
He was immediately brought to the Old Goa Police Station, where he was made comfortable and given the necessary support.
Subsequently, under the directions of JMFC Panaji and as per the provisions of the Mental Health Act, he was admitted to IPHB Bambolim for appropriate mental health treatment.
The timely intervention of the Old Goa Police played a crucial role in saving a life and ensuring the individual receives the care he needs.
