SATTARI: An alleged horrific attack on a 4-year-old girl child has led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man.
The child was allegedly attempted to be killed by the accused, Golu Thakur, by having her head crushed with a stone. Golu works as a labourer by trade.
The incident happened in the labourer’s colony at Morlem, Sattari, close to a stone quarry. The youngster vanished yesterday.
Police focused on Golu after receiving a missing complaint from the child’s parents. He led the police astray at first, then claimed to have killed the child by hitting her head with a stone.
After that, police began looking for the accused as well as the child. Early this morning, she was discovered in the forest, injured, beneath a tree.
The child is battling with life at GMC Hospital. Police are trying to ascertain the motive behind the gruesome attack.
