CALANGUTE: A 64-year-old Khobrowado, Calangute resident was taken into custody by Calangute police on Friday for allegedly possessing dried, greenish-colored leaves that appeared to be ganja. Following an official raid, the accused—Habibal Mondal, a resident of West Bengal—was placed under arrest.
Based on trustworthy information obtained from sources, Calangute police carried out a raid on Friday, March 8th, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Dolphine Circle, Naika Wado, Calangute Bardez, Goa. The police seized about 1.2 kg of ganja during the operation, which was worth Rs 1,20,000.
The accused is being held by the police while the confiscated contraband has been attached in accordance with the Search & Seizure Panchanama. Under the direction of SDPO Porvorim and Paresh Naik Pl Calangute PS, PSI Akshay Parsekar conducted the raid with the assistance of staff members Vidhyanand Amonkar, Manoj Naik, Vijay Naik PC, Gouresh Karbotkar, Pranay Gawas, Ganpat Tiloji, and Yogesh Bordekar.
Under the direction of PSI Kiran Naik of the Calangute Police Station, additional investigation into the matter is progressing.
