PANAJI: Panaji Police have registered Crime No. ___ late Wednesday night against Ashok Nayyar and others for allegedly breaking the official seal of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and illegally operating a restaurant at Miramar.
The case was registered at 11.46 pm on December 11 under Sections 223, 329(3), 329(4), 324(5) and 334(1) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, based on a complaint filed by Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd., Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, Panaji.
According to the complaint, prior to December 11, the accused persons, acting with common intention, allegedly broke open the seal affixed by GTDC officials on the main door of the restaurant premises located at TNK, Miramar Residency, Miramar, Tiswadi, and criminally trespassed into the premises. Police said the accused restarted restaurant operations without the knowledge or permission of the Tourism Department.
Further investigation in the case is underway and is being conducted by PSI Nitin Naik of Panaji Police Station.
