PISSURLEM: A 70-year-old man lost his life while a 20-year-old rider was injured in a two-wheeler collision that occurred on the road between Waghure and Shingane in Pissurlem-Sattari on Sunday evening.
The accident took place around 5 pm when Mahadev Datta Gawade, a resident of Shantinagar-Pissurlem, was returning to his village after dropping off a passenger at Shingane-Sattari. His motorcycle collided with another two-wheeler ridden by Krishna Wayangankar of Advai.
Both riders sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Gawade, however, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.
Valpoi police conducted a panchanama at the scene and have sent the deceased’s body to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim for post-mortem examination. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is currently underway.
