MARGAO: One person died while another has been injured in fatal accident involving a pickup truck at Margao. The deceased is identified as Kuyro Velip. One Deepak Gaonkar has also been grievously injured in the accident. The accident occurred around 3 am near wholesale fish market at Margao.
Driver of a Commercial pickup/ Rickshaw coming towards Wholesale fish Market from ktc lost control of vehicle and brushed the parked vehicle of scrap Thermacol & smashed the 2 vehicle which was parked on ROAD impact smashed the escortors/cleaners hand to cut into pieces and the driver seriously injured, as we couldn’t remove the door of Pickup which was smashed.
Later opened with the help of people and fire fighting team the injured driver and cleaner was inside from more then 30 mins,Ambulance was on spot &further the escorter/ Cleaner was declared dead by the nurse and the driver was taken to hospital who was seriously injuredpolice reached on spot for further investigation.
The locals have demand that parking of vehicles and crossing of fish boxes in large quantities in huge 06 wheelers vehicle take place on the narrow lane from Radha Krishna hotel to new constructed bridge near Folga Restaurant.
“We request our police department & PI Nathan Almeida & MCC CO/Chairperson to stop such practices and avoid such incident to take place in future & risking a human life , improper parking in small road is the problem which leads to traffic conjunction & such sad incidents,” the locals said
