Bambolim: One person was killed while another sustained injuries in a motor vehicle accident reported near Holy Cross, Bambolim, police said.
According to police, on January 2, 2026, information was received from the casualty police of Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, stating that Babloo Ray (28), a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was brought dead to the casualty, while Raman Kumar (21), a resident of Bihar, was undergoing treatment in the casualty ward. The cases were registered as medico-legal cases bearing MLC No. 26/0054 and 26/0055 respectively.
During enquiry, it was revealed that Babloo Ray, who was currently residing at a construction site at Verna opposite the IFB unit and was a native of Vishnupura post Basopatri, Rampur, Paratappur, Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, died due to a self-accident at Opposite Sainik Aaram Ghar near Holy Cross, Bambolim, along NH-66.
Police said the dead body of the deceased was handed over to the family members after completing medico-legal formalities. An inquest and post-mortem examination were conducted. Further investigation is in progress.
