ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered an offence against a 33-year-old scooter rider following a fatal accident in Siolim in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to police, the case was registered on February 12, 2026, at 3.07 pm based on a complaint filed by ASI Jitendra Raul (53) of Anjuna Police Station.
Police said that on February 12, 2026, at around 1.35 am, the accused, identified as Sagar Chaudhary, was riding an Activa scooter (GA-03-AG-5890) from Assagao towards Siolim. When he reached near Electric Pole No. LT/173/39/15 at Aframent Vaddo, Siolim, he allegedly rode the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control.
The scooter reportedly dashed into a parked Activa scooter (GA-03-AA-9450), causing the rider and his two pillion riders to fall on the road and sustain injuries.
The pillion riders have been identified as Bibek Chaudhary (22), residing at Siolim, and Prabin Chaudhary (23), residing at Assagao. All three are natives of Ward No. 8, Ghodaghodi, Kailali, Nepal.
Police stated that Bibek Chaudhary was later declared dead at Asilo Hospital.
It was further revealed that the accused rider did not possess a valid driving licence at the time of the accident.
An offence has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by LPSI Leesha Garudi of Anjuna Police Station.
