Aam Aadmi Party today claimed the ‘One Time Settlement’ announced by the Goa government is a victory to its demand to provide cheaper and quality power to Goans and asserted that their battle to get Goans free electricity of up to 200 units per power will continue through the Veej Andolan announced today.
AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre said as Power Minister Nilesh Cabral failed miserably at the debate held yesterday with a common Goan on why Goans cannot get cheap and quality power supply like their counterparts in Delhi, he has now come with the One Time Settlement as a sop to aggrieved Goans.
While welcoming this one time Settlement that provides defaulters to pay the bill in one to six installments provided the first installment is paid within one week of the application and under which the departmental penalty charges are waived as per the period of payment, he said this is no solution to the power woes Goans are suffering from.
“We shall not rest till Goans get free electricity and are guaranteed twenty hour power supply without any interruptions,” he said adding that the Veej Andolan announced will continue where AAP will contact each and every Goan at his or her house to discuss this issue.
Rahul said Goans will shortly participate in a referendum that will be carried out by AAP wherein Goans will decide what they want and once and for all tell the BJP government that it is time they listen to Goans and not to their Delhi masters.
He thanked the people of Goa for standing by AAP in the debate and this stand of the people, he said was responsible for the One Time Settlement announced by the government who never before had even hinted about such an offer.
