PANAJI: Following allegations, the Opposition today has demanded the sacking of DGP Goa Jaspal Singh in the Assagao House demolition matter.
Congress President Amit Patkar said that revelations by Anjuna Police expose how misused his position to protect an outsider in an illegal act.
“I demand Chief Minister Pramod Sawant immediately ask Union Home Minister Amit Shah to sack the DGP for his involvement in the Assagao House demolition case,” said Patkar.
Patkar questioned how can we expect the Police Department to function in a free and fair manner when the Super Boss himself pressurises his subordinates.
Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said that the trust in the police department of Goa has been lost now.
“Having failed to resolve issues through legal means, encouraging such barbaric and uncivilised methods that are employed in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. When will this Govt start behaving like Govt of Goa?” Vijai added.
Congress Vice President Sunil Kawthankar demanded Goa Government immediately relieve DGP Jaspal Singh, place him under suspension and name him as Co-accused in the F.I.R. failing which we will write to MHA.
