PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that his goal is to create a healthcare hub at Tuem, equipped with the best facilities, to serve the community effectively and efficiently.
“Our plans are to upgrade Tuem Hospital to a Sub-District Facility. This will mark a significant step forward in our commitment to providing accessible and high-quality healthcare to the people of Pernem taluka,” said Rane
He further said that once the hospital is handed over to DHS Goa will work towards expediting the process of making the hospital fully operational, ensuring that the burden on North Goa District Hospital is reduced.
“Our goal is to create a healthcare hub at Tuem, equipped with the best facilities, to serve the community effectively and efficiently” he added
Rane said that he remains dedicated to improving healthcare infrastructure across Goa, ensuring that every citizen has access to the medical care they need, close to home.
Speaking further, Rane said that Cncer Screening Abhiyan is poised to be groundbreaking in cancer detection and early treatment across Goa.
“The Cancer Screening Van, equipped with advanced technology, is offering free screenings for oral, breast, cervical, and GI cancers to hundreds of individuals,” he added
During the latest drive at CHC Valpoi, 224 patients were screened, leading to the identification of 4 suspected breast cancer cases (BIRADS 4 & 5) and 3 oral premalignant lesions.
“This initiative is a significant step toward improving early diagnosis and ensuring timely care.We are committed to undertaking early screening throughout Goa for timely diagnosis and effective treatment,” Minister added
