Rachol: Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club, Rachol, emerged victorious in the 42nd Our Lady of Gloria Inter-Ward Football Tournament, defeating St Sebastian, Bachbhat, 1-0 in a closely contested final at the Rachol ground on the feast day. The decisive goal came from Silvano of Gloria SC, who unleashed a powerful 30-yard strike that secured the championship for his team.
The final was attended by Francisco Sardinha, Member of Parliament and former Chief Minister of Goa, who was the chief guest and presented the prizes. Other dignitaries included Joseph Vaz, Sarpanch of VP Rachol, Roque Mascarenhas, Fr. Anthony Rodrigues (PP Rachol), Fr. Jovial Fernandes, Cosme Oliver (GFA), Anthony Pango (Sr. Vice-President, GFA), Francisco Xavier Cardozo, Luis Quadros (ex-Sarpanch, Raia), and various club officials.
Several individual awards were presented to outstanding performers. Learan Dias was named Player of the Tournament, while Keetan Dias of Livrament Boys, Arlem, received recognition for the first hattrick of the tournament. Julius Oliveira was adjudged Man of the Final, with Jim Fernandes (St Sebastian) awarded Best Goalkeeper. Other accolades included Alwyn Dias as Best Defender, Oliex Oliver (Gloria SC) as Best Midfielder, and Silvano (Gloria SC) as the First Scorer of the Final.
The tournament concluded with celebrations and acknowledgments for all participants, organizers, and supporters, marking another memorable edition of the local football extravaganza.
