PANAJI: The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), with support from the Ministry of AYUSH and the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, hosted a successful Yoga Mahotsav at the Radisson Blu Resort, Cavelossim Beach, Goa. Marking the 42nd day of the 100-day countdown to International Day of Yoga, the event attracted over 350 participants from the wellness, tourism, and hospitality sectors.
Welcoming attendees, Mr. Vishal Pathak, Corporate GM of Radisson Blu Resort, emphasized Goa’s serene setting as a perfect backdrop for wellness tourism. Mr. Deepak Narvekar, DGM – Marketing (Hotels) and PRO of Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd., echoed this sentiment, highlighting state initiatives to promote hinterland and regenerative tourism under the leadership of Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte.
Dr. Sneha Bhagwat, CEO of Goa College of Physiotherapy, Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, underlined yoga’s holistic benefits, calling it a transformative lifestyle. Renowned wellness expert Dr. Mickey Mehta praised the enthusiastic local participation, stressing yoga’s role in elevating consciousness and strengthening immunity.
The highlight of the event was a live demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol by Dr. Joy Pereira, a Master Yoga Trainer certified by the Ministry of AYUSH. Dr. Pereira guided participants through each practice while explaining its health benefits.
Ms. Trupti Pawar, Secretary General of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI), closed the event by applauding the growing synergy between hospitality and wellness. “Yoga is redefining hospitality, and with support from the AYUSH Ministry, we can establish India—and especially Goa—as a premier global wellness destination,” she said.
Ms. Payal Swami, Assistant Secretary General, FHRAI, moderated the event, which celebrated India’s yogic heritage and emphasized its pivotal role in global health and well-being.
