SANKHALI: More than 40,000 women across Goa have undergone health check-ups under the “Checked by Doctor” campaign, with nearly 2 percent of those screened diagnosed with health concerns and placed under treatment.
The initiative, aimed at addressing women’s health issues, is being carried out through government hospitals along with select private medical facilities that are offering screenings at affordable rates. The program includes routine examinations such as blood parameter tests, diabetes screening, tuberculosis detection, and cervical cancer checks, followed by necessary treatment for those found with medical conditions.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, speaking at a function held at the Government Social Health Centre in Sakhali, urged women to take advantage of the initiative and emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and timely medical care.
