PONDA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that Goa’s public elementary schools are surpassing private ones in terms of facilities and value of education.
He was citing a Mutta Foundation assessment that ranked Goa’s primary schools as having the highest value of education.
“I completed my primary education in a government primary school at Kotambi, and if I can become CM, then the younger generations studying in government schools can even become Union Ministers,” he remarked, advocating for primary education in government schools taught in the home tongue.
At an expense of Rs 2.11 crore, the premises have been renovated, and its exceptional architecture sets it apart from other government primary schools.
According to Sawant, individuals should make the most of the school since it was created with the next 25 years in mind.
The school has a balbhavan, toy library, amphitheatre, hall, garden, and art gallery in addition to classrooms and restrooms. There is also an aganwadi on the property.
“With the marked improvement in the government primary school infrastructure, education standards are also improving in the state,” said Sawant.
The state has started the Vidya Samiksha Kendra at Porvorim to monitor the development of students across the state.
“What students are being taught in the class, how they respond, and every other aspect pertaining to students’ overall development is being tracked by this kendra,” he said.
